Health is important for everyone and making sure someone is in good health is critical to live a long and fulfilling life. There are a number of ways to ensure good health and most of them are used in conjunction with each other, for instance both healthy eating and plenty of exercise will ensure good health.
As the saying goes you are what you eat' and that is why a healthy diet will have a positive effect on your life. However not everyone is aware of what food should be included as part of a healthy diet. The answer is that it should be balanced, with plenty of fruit and vegetables (at least five a day!), protein (such as meats and fish), dairy foods and starchy foods (such as bread, rice and potatoes). In terms of fat, it is not something that must be cut out completely but it should only be consumed in small amounts.
The word diet is often used to describe those regimes that people undergo to lose weight. These will often include cutting out various fatty foods and are dependant on the individual.
